NEW YORK CITY

Neighborhood Preservation Center
The Neighborhood Preservation Center is a place where the public is welcome to convene, strategize,
and exchange information through its various services: public meeting rooms, temporary and virtual offices,
and a resource referral service. Through its services, the Center endeavors to support the numerous organizations
concerned with the city’s multifaceted environment, and to facilitate the public’s access to these organizations.

Rebuilding A Community

‘Rebuilding A Community’ (www.downtownnyc.org) is an initiative of the Civic Alliance, a coalition of more than 75 business,
community and environmental groups representing a cross-section of New York and the Region that is providing a broad
“umbrella” for civic planning and advocacy efforts in support of the rebuilding of downtown New York. Information and ideas
from the site will be used by the Civic Alliance to inform its recommendations and reports to the Lower Manhattan Development
Corporation, the joint State-city Corporation that is overseeing the revitalization of Lower Manhattan.

Wa$teMatch
One organization’s waste can be another organization’s raw material. NY Wa$teMatch identifies waste generators and potential
reusers and matches them together. Waste generators sell what they once threw away, or save on their disposal costs; re-users

ranging from manufacturers to construction companies by helping them reduce waste in their on-site processes.
